This site has been developed to enable societies to publish their data online without the need for specialist knowledge or complex merchant systems.
This site will allow customers to go to a specific
society-branded page showing what data is available and giving a
number of options, subscription or pay-per-view. We can advise on
pricing but the society itself sets the price for access to their
records.
Our experiences of publishing with S&N
"The Malvern Family History Society has
been transcribing the Worcestershire baptism records in Excel for
the last couple of years and early in 2008 were looking for a suitable
way of publishing our transcriptions.
We looked at several alternatives, our criteria of choice being:
Firstly, finding a publisher who was enthusiastically going to work
with us it producing a web site that enabled a search of the records
across the whole of Worcestershire with facilities that matched
Excel allowing family grouping to be produced. Secondly, providing
an income to our society to enable future project work.
On these criteria we selected S&N. We have been very impressed
with the co-operative attitude of all the S&N staff we have
dealt with, we could not have hoped for better. We are very satisfied
with the financial contract reached with S&N.
We would thoroughly recommend S&N Genealogy to any Family
History Society who is considering publishing their work."

Online Publishing in Detail
The infrastructure, data conversion and online payments
will be handled by S&N with information and links provided by
the society.
The site has a master index allowing customers to
find society resources countrywide that match their name interests
within a given period.
We have our own infrastructure in London, Wiltshire and Jersey and already run many major online websites with internal technical experts on hand.
S&N have many years of online publishing expertise
in both pay-per-view and subscription services and are inviting
societies to publish their data on a 50:50 revenue
share basis for exclusive commercial access or 30% for non exclusive
access. As well as getting your own dedicated society pages you
will also benefit from an agreed flat rate payment from our own
sites.
Alternatively, those societies wishing to give free access to their data to their society members can benefit from this same scheme and still get an agreed fee for the data from S&N sites.
For the initial period we are offering county societies the incentive of free equipment (laptops, projectors and computer storage). This is open to those that also allow us to host the data on a royalty basis on TheGenealogist.co.uk.
